Welcoming Online Kids Yoga School

Need something to occupy the kids while you are all at home? It’s such a challenging time to keep the kids happy but also for parents to keep calm amidst the storm and underlying anxiety of the unknown.

I have something for you. This online yoga school is designed not only to bring kids back into their bodies, exert some physical energy and development of mindfulness tools, it will give parents some time out that they so desperately need.

Twice a week I will run live Kids Yoga classes during the afternoon (when things can get really hectic!) between 4.30 – 5pm. Just enough time for mum or dad to sit down have a cup of tea, or start dinner preparations uninterrupted.

Why Kids Yoga:

  • Promotes a healthy and active lifestyle

  • Enhances balance, flexibility and muscle strength

I’m suggesting that this class will be suitable for the ages of 5-12 year olds. However, if you have younger siblings or even older siblings, they are more than welcome to join in on the fun too. My 4 year old son will probably want to get involved also.

I am also going to incorporate in Yin Yoga class once a week at 8.15pm, to allow parents to wind down and have some quiet time. Yin Yoga is proven to reduce stress, relieve tension, encourages mindfulness and meditation. Having this time for self-reflection improves our attention, concentration and psychological wellbeing, which we all could do with right now.

When we have this time of quiet it helps reduce mind-wandering (going from thought to thought). Do you find that you are ruminating at the moment?

When we partake in a yin class our nervous system has the chance to slow down, we connect with our breath and stretch our bodies making us feel really good.

I will also include within the membership other helpful hints.  As a teacher, teaching in classrooms for 13 years I have developed tools along the way to help keep kids engaged and strategies to calm the brain.

Along with this private group you as parents will have the options of creating a little community amongst yourselves, a means of support for one another when we cant actually met in person.

This Online Kids Yoga School is valued at $160

Including:

4 x 30 minute kids yoga (which will be available for replay at anytime)

2 x 60 minute adult yin yoga

Duration for two weeks, beginning Monday 30th March until Monday 13th April.
