To the future - our kids
For those of you who are not aware, I am a Secondary School Teacher trained in Food Technology and Health Education. So my first passion was to education children to be their best healthy selves. I am still extremely passionate about shaping our kids values and knowledge to empower them for the future.
This is why I still incorporate programs for kids in the work I do now.
I am so excited and extremely proud of my latest offering called Girl Becoming.
This 2.5 hour workshop is aimed at girls aged 9 - 14 years old and focuses on getting your first period.
As a health teacher for 13 years I know how little the curriculum covers on this one subject - Menarche. In schools it quickly moves into sex education, and this workshop solely focuses on the menstrual cycle.
Covering things like:
- the 4 phases
- anatomical diagrams
- opening up a dialogue between mother/caregiver and daughter
- sustainable products
This workshop is for both mother and daughter where a yummy lunch is included, plus a take home gift.
The very first pilot workshop will be held on Saturday the 18th July at 11am. Limited spaces do apply to keep workshops intimate and create a safe space for questions (CIVID -19 social distancing rules are being met)

This workshop will be held once a month with the second one booked in for the 15th August.
If you do not have daughter yourself I would be so grateful if you could please share this program with family and friends.
Secondly my Kids Yoga classes will be resuming in Term 3 on a Friday afternoon at 4.15 - 5pm in Hurstbridge. Its such a beautiful way for the children to wind down after a busy week at school.
It's not just the fun and physical component of kids yoga that is great but more importantly the incorporation of meditation and brain care.
Each week we sit in circle so that every child in the class can be SEEN and HEARD. This format allows students to talk about their week which also gives me an insight to how they are feeling. They feel very comfortable to express themselves which allows me to incorporate what's happening for them into our classes.
Yes we play games, do yoga poses, play music but as the teacher I place a high importance on their growth mindset through weekly focuses and meditation
Of course if you have any questions about these programs for kids please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
